Registrations for Skills Competition Wales 2024 are now officially open! It’s your time to shine, showcase your talents, and take your skills to the next level.
Skills Competition Wales aims to raise the profile of skills in Wales and offers students, trainees, and apprentices in Wales a chance to challenge, benchmark and raise their skills by taking part in competitions across a range of sectors.
Funded by the Welsh Government and run by a dedicated network of colleges, work-based learning providers and employer-led organisations, it consists of a series of local skills competitions, aligned to WorldSkills and the needs of the Welsh economy.
The 64 individual competitions cover skills across four sectors which include: Construction and Infrastructure, Engineering and Technology, Health, Hospitality and Lifestyle and Digital, Business and Creative.
Why participate?
92% of learners said that taking part in Skills Competition Wales improved their practical skills.
91% said taking part in Skills Competition Wales improved their motivation and 87% said that taking part improved their confidence and self-esteem.
One learner said that Skills Competition Wales was a “great event and gave me knowledge and insights into the industry that I’m trying to get into.”
Another said, “I feel as if the competition has motivated me to carry on what I’m doing even more, it’s opened my eyes on how to work in the gym industry.”

Here’s how to register:
1. Visit the official Skills Competition Wales registration page.
2. Fill out the registration form with your details and chosen competition category.
3. Review the terms and conditions and hit the submission button.
4. Keep an eye on your inbox for further instructions.
Registrations close on the 4th of December 2023.
Competitions will take place in late January and early February 2023, culminating in a Celebration Event on 14 March to showcase the achievements of all competitors.
