The Power of Competition Learning and Skills Development from World Skills UK

Date: 12th February 2026
Time: 11am

Discover how skills competitions can energise your teaching and help learners reach their full potential.
Join Chris Hyde from WorldSkills UK for a CPD session exploring how competition-based learning can build confidence, strengthen technical skills and create clear progression pathways for learners, including opportunities to progress to national competitions.

You’ll be introduced to a standards-led approach to skills development and learn how competition activity can drive excellence across your provision. The session will also highlight the benefits of WorldSkills UK endorsement and how to make the most of the WorldSkills UK Learning Lab, benchmarking assessments and learner tracking tools

Through real examples, shared practice and success stories from educators, you’ll gain ideas and strategies you can take away and apply in your own setting.

Thursday 12th of February - Coleg Sir Gar: Graig Campus Lecture Theatre. This session will run for around 1 hour.
