We invite you to join us on 6th December 2024 at the UWTSD SA1 Waterfront Campus, IQ Building, Swansea, SA1 8EW for a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) event dedicated to the growing field of Industrial Automation. This event provides an invaluable opportunity for professionals to expand their knowledge and practical experience in key automation technologies, while also exploring how these skills are tested and developed within WorldSkills competitions.
The session will be delivered by Marcin Regulski, Systems Applications Engineer at WAGO UK & Ireland, who will guide you through essential automation skills used in WorldSkills competitions. Participants will gain hands-on experience with Pneumatics and Electro-Pneumatics, and will delve into PLC Programming using Siemens controllers and the TIA Portal. The day will also feature an exploration of Industry 4.0 and its impact on automation systems in modern manufacturing.
The event will conclude with a Q&A session, giving attendees the opportunity to clarify any questions about the topics covered and how these skills are applied in competition settings.
In addition, attendees will explore the use of sensors and actuators to create automated systems, with an emphasis on real-world application. Participants will refine fault-finding techniques, engage in basic electrical wiring, and experience limited mechanical assembly—all essential skills that are not only core to automation competitions but also highly sought after in industry settings.
