Graphic Design 2026: A CPD Masterclass for Welsh Educators.

Date: 22nd October 2026
Time: 10am

Run by industry experts Ben Elson and Katy Rushton, this session explores the technical standards and creative expectations essential for success in graphic design competitions. Participants will examine the assessment criteria used to judge design theory, advanced software proficiency, and the ability to meet complex briefs under tight competitive conditions.

The session includes a practical look at competition-style design challenges, providing tutors with insights into key competencies such as typography, layout, branding, and asset optimisation. Guidance will also be shared on how to align daily curriculum tasks with regional and national marking criteria, while helping learners manage time and maintain creativity under pressure.

This CPD is intended for graphic design, creative media, and digital arts tutors who want to enhance their curriculum and support learners in transitioning from standard classroom projects to high-stakes competitive assessments.
