Electrical Installation 2026: A CPD Masterclass for Welsh Educators

Date: 15th December 2026
Time: 10-3

Join us on 15 December for a dynamic and inspiring CPD session with Alex Robinson, Head of Training at NICEIC, and Mitchel Smith, Technical Training Developer at NICEIC and WorldSkills UK Training Manager for Electrical Installation.

Whether you are new to skills competitions or looking to elevate your learners to the next level, this session offers a rare opportunity to hear directly from two experts who have lived and breathed the competition journey.

Alex, a former lecturer at a Welsh college, began his own journey by training and supporting competition entrants and is now approaching his eighth year as a SkillELECTRIC judge. Mitchel brings significant experience as a national judge and has played a key role in preparing competitors for success on the world stage.

Together, they will take you behind the scenes of elite skills competitions, sharing what separates good competitors from great ones, how competition training can transform learner outcomes, and what educators can learn from the world's highest-performing skills systems.

Drawing on experiences from national finals, SkillELECTRIC, WorldSkills, and key insights gathered from Shanghai, this engaging session will provide practical strategies, industry intelligence, and real-world examples that you can immediately apply to inspire learners, raise standards, and drive excellence in your own training environment.
