Competition Craft CPD 2026 – All Skills

This session, led by experienced trainer Martin Yates, will provide an in-depth introduction to Competition Craft across all skills. Designed for educators at all levels, the session will explore the core elements that underpin successful competition preparation and delivery.

The day will include an overview of the Route to Gold approach, followed by guided discussion on competitor familiarisation, preparation strategies, and effective coaching techniques. Attendees will also explore both judgement and measurement-based assessment, with opportunities to review relevant examples of test projects and marking schemes.

This session is suitable for staff across Further Education and Work-Based Learning who are supporting learners engaged in skills competitions or looking to strengthen their understanding of competitive standards across multiple disciplines.
