The Fitness Assistant has been developed over several years to ensure that students working at lower levels and with additional learning needs are able to show off their skills in the health & fitness industry.
‘Gyms are very busy and due to time constraints between sessions and the size of classes, Personal Trainers often need support in setting-up sessions. They require the Assistant Trainer to help welcome and pre-screen the clients, answer questions, set-up/demonstrate, keep the clients motivated, help demonstrating the Warm-up and Cool-downs and assist in putting away the equipment.’
The competition will test current fitness/recreation/health & exercise students’ skills in a range of industry driven tasks where they will be judged by sector-leading experts from across the UK.
Competitors will be required to fulfil a range of tasks that would be required of an Assistant Fitness Instructor working in a health club, gym or an outdoor space.
Activities will take place in a gym environment.
On this page you will be able to download further details on this years competition activity. These can be found in the competition brief.
