A professional maker is someone who works in the field of Design Crafts and will hand make one off objects, installation pieces and products for galleries, shops, or specialist fairs. They might work with companies in the creative industries which could be interior design, architecture, fashion, film, theatre etc. Specialisms might be glass, ceramics, jewellery or mixed media and might include a range of materials such as wood, plastic, fabric, concrete, resin, metal etc. Makers create both with hand skills and digital tools.
